Music Of The Night

Composition of this essay has been complicated. 898 words in 30 minutes. Please don't ask how this is possible, I was placed in a stressful situation. =) [47/50 marks]

The other essay for my English paper is even more mind-boggling. That 10-minute-worth essay was worth 32/35 marks. Not bad, for 2 full pages of 10-minute rush. =D

It looks as if the world was about to come to a complete standstill. Nobody knows that at this very moment, we are hurtling through space at an amazing speed. Hard to believe, since the stars don't look like they are moving. The Hunter hovers just over the horizon yonder, ready to shoot aimlessly at the vast number of bright gems studded on the black sheet of infinite depth. The moon was full tonight, instead of hiding elusively as it was wont to do. This is my favourite time of the day, the time when the Earth revolves quietly and cradles its people to sleep. This is the time where fantastical creatures of myth and magic in the sky look down upon us and say their greetings, though not often do we answer their calls.

Unlike most self-professed "nocturnal creatures", I do not stay indoors during such calming times. No, I am not a blood-sucking vampire who kills people in their dreams, neither am I a scientist who can tell you everything that exists in the sky. I am but a humble Earthling, who finds awe and inspiration in the sybilline structures of the universe, of which I can only be a part of by gazing into the sky. I see the stars coming out to play when civilization least cares about them. Most people choose to watch television, surf the internet or amuse themselves with mindless games, but I - I choose to see the subtle movements in the heavens, count the uncountable number of distant suns that paint our night sky. When I look at Orion, I don't see a lifeless constellation of a man with his signature belt that could put designer belts to shame, I see a man made of fiery flowers of hydrogen lost in a faraway world, scintillating ornately with piercing red Betelgeuse and young, blue Rigel (both are names of stars). By submitting myself to the wonders of the sky at night, I am able to travel to a place between fact and fiction, which really is a sanctuary for restive thoughts.

Inspiration is the other key as to why I enjoy the silent lure of the night. Of course, to appreciate the real wonders at night, one might need to bring along some tools. These are mainly the camera, a notepad, and same empty music sheets. When I'm out there under the mercy of the lords of the sky, I am not deafened by a silence which might haunt many. Instead, I am washed with the eternal music of the universe. Ideas pop out of thin air and before I know it, I would have experienced several 'eureka' moments out there alone. What better way to capture these thoughts before they are gone forever? Some of these ideas or thoughts would probably never have the chance to surface in my head in the hectic humdrum of life during the daytime, which is why I am very thankful to the peace and quiet the night offers.

Apart from that, I am able to indulge myself in an uninterrupted stream of thoughts. When it is raining and I can't go out, I lock myself up in my room and think. I think of the happy moments in my life and reminisce about those times I screwed up. It is via this contemplative session I provide myself that I am able to find out where I have gone wrong at certain critical times in life. It is during this time that I can finally take a step back from my consciousness and analyze situations without taking emotions into consideration. From this exercise, appreciating life as it is has become easier, and I feel that I don't flare up too easily. Almost all of my life-changing decisions were made during this time of the day, most of which I have yet to regret.

Undeniably, the most important reason why I like nights are because I can finish up undone schoolwork (heh!). Normally, I become more lucid at night, and am more able to soak up information and become more productive. People say it is good to study hard, but I prefer to study smart at night. One can almost say that I do not put in a 100% effort on this matter, because as I have pointed out earlier, I like to "nightdream". Then again, what else can I do? It is important that I grab the chance to do some real work when I am at my most attentive, as taking in ideas without putting them through much grinding is useless (to me, at least). This is when my creativity is at its peak.

Night. It is that time of the day when heaven comes a-knocking. It is the only time in the day when the Gods lend their creative spark to me. The darkness, the mystery, the ghastly shadows cast by the moon; these are exactly the things that arouse my conscience and hold the secrets to unlock my sometimes quixotic world. Not many will understand the deep affinity I reserve for the night, but nevertheless, it doesn't deter me from answering the call of the full moon. Night is when dreams awaken, and at times when I really lose it, I would dream of aliens visiting, and they would take me to a place no one has ever dreamed of before.

Thief Of Time

Time is accelerating...

I am a recidivist. A resipiscent one, maybe, but nevertheless, a recidivist. I am not one who pilfers the chattels of another. Neither am I one to conform to pernicious activities capable of eroding my sanity. No, I commit another form of crime. I steal the one thing belongs to everyone, calling it my own and throwing it into the recesses of my past. I am responsible for stashing away what has been presented to me by spacetime, thinking that its full potential has been unleashed in the present moment. I am undetectable, conducting my operations when one least expects me too. I am a thief of time.

It is a wonder that cops have yet to catch me and put me in jail, for I have, over the years, kidnapped most of the seconds that strut pass me. The minutes, the hours, the days - they march by slowly, hesitant of going my way. They crawl, they slide, they hide. Yet, I always manage to catch them. During my younger days, I'd stop them in their tracks by pouncing on them, jumping, shooting them with powerful water guns and even paralyze them with shrieks that could break any glass. As the years pass by, I start opening books to suck time in, proving this method nearly as effective as time-killing black holes itself.

To my utmost horror, Darwin's law of evolution also holds true for this thing we call time. It has now become the predator to my existence, moving with such velocity and vigour which could put any cheetah or race car to shame. I did not give in. I tried to capture the flying moments, translating events into words, creating meaning from an obfuscated flurry of a continuum of memories that form after each second. What I call "Now" quickly transforms itself into the previous frame of time. Everything I once deemed as "Future" is coming at me faster than the speed of light without the slightest pause.

Still, I tried to catch this monster.

I couldn't accept the truth soon enough. My stupidity remains unmatched to this moment. Time is now an untamed creature running amok, racing itself against light to reach a finish line that humans wish we couldn't see from where we are now. Time is pressing against me, punishing me for what I've done in my younger days. Time is not to be wasted, not to be caught; it is meant to be experienced to its fullest potential, allowing an individual to live life more than it ought to be. It can only be recorded as but a mere fragment of our fading moments and memories, most of which do not match up to the experience itself. Even then, penning down these precious times are wasting the present time itself, which could be used to save the world or something less exaggerating. Actions speak louder than words.

It is obvious that I have not been properly immortalizing events in my life this year, indicating either overproductivity or the other end of that spectrum. I have not been successfully capturing this elusive thing called time, instead, utilizing it in ways only a procrastinator could understand. Now, I would no longer remain a thief of time. I'm going to race it until I can race no more.

And hopefully, win.

Multi-Millionaires' Dogs

You know Pacific West? That company that sells seafood stuff (and advertises a lot)? Apparently the owner of that company is my father's best friend. (Now I know where to get free and good food)....

Awesome, right?!?! And he has my favourite breed of dog, imported from Australia, costing 5000 bucks each. Border collie, the smartest breed of dog, stays inside his gigantic house and runs up and down happily. And it seems that the Fuzzy's trainer got fed up of training it because it doesn't listen to him. Maybe Fuzzy only prefers to listen to its one and only family. But he was very friendly to my mum and I, allowing us to pet him. He was wary of my father, though, and kept barking at him.

At least Fuzzy isn't some jittery, hyperactive dog (like Silkie) or a Pitbull Terrier. I've found that Pitbull Terriers have been banned from Switzerland (or maybe the whole Europe?), as they're very strongly built and are aggressive. And once they get angry, the only that can stop them is a bullet. Then, they die and you find out that there's no point rearing them (you need to have a license to rear them anyway).

Back to Pacific West....no, we didn't get free food, but we DID get free lunch during some reunion among 5 long lost friends, including my father and the President of PW.

And we went into his house, wholly designed on the basics of Feng Shui. It was really nice and had an antique feel to it (there was a lot of wood). But my favourite part of the house was the dog running around us. *Grins*

Mr Nonsense

I just went to Dr M's blog to "busybody around" and if possible, write a comment there. After seeing 595 responses for his blog post on the teaching of Science and Maths in English, I decided it would be a waste of time to comment. Dr M is not going to read 596 comments!

After some browsing around on his webpage, I discovered something which I find ridiculous, or should I say, "nonsense". Here's what I found:

By hisham1 on July 9, 2009 3:05 PM
firstly I thought that it wise to teach math and science in english. but after the minister, who is a nonsense guy, form a committee, discussed, and decide about it I changed my mind. I go with the government. So, I vote:
YES

Hmmm, so what you're trying to say here is that you're a nonsense guy as well?

Eh brother, wake up-lah! Do you really really think Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin is rasional in making his decision? (Note that I'm trying to make his status sound like an insult.) For heaven's sake, even a normal kid is able to explain why Maths and Science should be taught in English. What about all those scientific terms? Not like they'll be the same in Bahasa Malaysia! "Monocular vision", "astigmatism", "heart attack", etc. are only accurately described in English mainly because there is no existing word for those terms in BM. Thus, the closest that "heart attack" can be translated into is "penyakit jantung", which literally means "heart sickness". At this point, it is grammatically correct to say I have "penyakit jantung" because of the government's decision, yet scientifically wrong to do so.

And the Education Minister still wants to revert the subjects back to BM. Oh dear, it's back to the Stoneage.

Muhyiddin Yassin claims that the grades of students are gradually deteriorating every year since the teaching of those subjects in English was implemented. What sort of excuse is this? Lower grades don't show that we're getting dumber, neither does it show that the English language is the main cause of deterioration in grades. Firstly, the papers are marked very strictly and we students know that the examiners only follow a guideline when marking. You would only be considered correct if the words you used are found in the marking scheme, regardless of whether your answer should be rightfully correct or not. Secondly, maybe students do not understand certain things like the aim of the experiment, or are not well-read in a certain topic. These are not because they do not understand the terms, but because they don't prepare themelves well. Thirdly, have you noticed that students' characters are changing by the day?! More and more people are slacking and that may also be the cause of declination in grades.

EdMin, don't you want us to continue improving so that we can rise to the standards of other countries? Maybe not. Maybe you just want all your citizens to grow up stupid at the same rate. Maybe that's your concept of 1Malaysia, where rural and urban students learn at the same, slow rate, never being able to grasp the actual terms used in the scientific fields. Maybe they want students to have a tough time keeping up in universities. And all the potential scientists can suffer forever, for the sake of learning at the same rate as kampung people. Sweet, sweet 1Malaysia.

But NO! That's not what students want! Urban students want to keep up with the rat race, while rural students just want to have proper education where they learn proper terms. Honestly, how many countries in the world use Bahasa Malaysia as a medium to study science? So, do you think that learning these subjects in BM will be of much help to us? If all we care about is our examination results and the SPM certificate, how on earth are we supposed to improve ourselves?! How are we supposed to be accepted into overseas universities?

The whole point here is not that the English standard will drop, but that the understanding of mathematics and the sciences will implode into a complicated heap of BM words which cannot be converted into english fast enough.

If we cannot understand English terms, how then can we learn about more complex researches and findings? How can we grasp the knowledge which we ran away from? How are students supposed to convert back to english in their higher education, and what about those who wish to be future scientists? All the answers are simple and they point to a certain phenomenon Malaysia hates : Brain Drain.

People say that knowledge is power. At the rate this is going, it is almost a prophecy to say that the forthcoming generation will be intellectual weaklings.

I pity aspiring scientists.

Najib, Najib, your deputy prime minister has tarnished your name within your first 100 days as PM, eventhough "some" people are happy and you came out in the headlines with showers of praises from an 11-year old gifted kid. Your senseless party Barisan Nonsense have absent-mindedly agreed to his decision and you have not opened your mouth on this matter. Mr Prime Minister, you have earned my lifelong contempt for killing my compatriots' futures.

Torture the Government :Holidays That Never Were

Note: Scroll down to read the essay.

The fortnight-long holiday has proven redundant for my case, mainly because 11 out of 16 days were not spent doing the "correct" things. Neither "correct" as in studying, nor "correct" as in "teenager correct", spending time on the computer. Instead, there were various "distractions" to pay attention to. Unfortunately, these "distractions" ate away my holidays.

Distraction Monster.

What am I talking about?? More like Monster of Destruction!!! Destroyed my holidays!! But it's okay, at least I learned a few things which I already know. I gained experience eventhough I could've done better. At least I know my capabilities. Without trying hard enough? Okay, good or bad hols, you judge.

1. We were quite good as a choir.
2. We still didn't champion the state.
3. We weren't slaughtered by CHS even though we knew we sucked a lot for the MCE competition.
4. We screwed up the MCE competition, thus not being able to gauge our true capabilities. In case you don't know, we were judged by REAL judges.
5. I've made Filipino friends.
6. I did not communicate much with the Batu Lintang or the Sibu group (eek).
7. I took a lot of group pictures, this time, most of them contained me in the pic.
8. The camera was blur most of the time. (Fussy with blur pics).
9. I improved tremendously in Scrabble and got a worthy position.
10. I flunked Scrabble terribly.
11. I think I can pass Yamaha grade 4.
12. My voice cracked when I was singing, and the examiner thought I couldn't sing high notes even though I know I'm soprano 1. Heck.

13. I know Gheek is nuttier than usual.
14. Catholics like tempe.
15. Starbucks consoles people.
16. The scrabble team consists of Adam Lambert fans (who don't respond to my poll).
17. Shu Wen's dad's phone got misplaced, later known as lost.
18. I like KL.
19. Most people enjoy loitering.

I did not have the free time to send my complaints to Star or the government yet, so I'll post my opinions here for the time being. If there are any points you wish to add, please let me know. If you're some legendary debater or public speaker, advice on how to present my points are greatly appreciated. (Please note that I'm planning to send this to the papers).

I have been reading the news on the currently controversial English subject. As a secondary school student, I wish to express my disappointment towards the reluctance to turn English into a compulsory “pass” subject in SPM. I was really shocked when I read that there were groups that actually wanted to call off the implementation. Looks like some of us have already conceded defeat before the fight even began.

Are we Malaysians really that doubtful of our abilities? We’ve conquered Mount Everest, swam across various channels, broken many records and yet we claim that we cannot master the English language. How ridiculous is that? We all know that where there’s a will, there’s a way. Apparently, there isn’t much determination to master the language now, is there?

I would like to know, why are we so unwilling to improve and help ourselves? We all know that English is the global medium of communication in important fields such as science and technology. Yet why is our government still beating around the bush, debating about such a trivial issue such as making the language a compulsory subject to pass in SPM? Why is it so hard to accept a language which equals to global importance?

Don’t keep repeating that rural students and teachers are not able to master and teach English effectively. We’re tired of hearing that already. Just because English isn’t our mother tongue doesn’t mean that we have to neglect it and only focus on the national language alone. Yes, we should feel proud of Bahasa Malaysia as our national language and be proficient in it, but that does not mean that we have to forsake English because that is the language that will bring us out into the world.

Having said that, stop using the rural students as an excuse to not make the subject compulsory, as all you are implying is that you doubt your citizens’ capabilities. What about those teachers who have strived to bring out the best in their students? What about those students who have worked hard for themselves? Students of today are the future of our country. How can anybody use the rural area students’ discomfort towards English as an excuse to jeopardize the nation’s future? Honestly, have you heard of adaptation, perseverance and hard work? If we all want to move forward as a nation, then we should really walk the talk. If we are willing to accept English as a compulsory subject, then of course we can improve. There are people out there who will work hard to master the subject, so don’t presume that we give up that easily. Don’t look down on our abilities. Instead, we should give each other assurance that we can do it.

One of the reasons as to why the standard of English is so low is because the subject is not compulsory to pass to get the SPM certificate. Students perceive it as a less important subject, and so do the teachers, who utilize their English-teaching period to teach other subjects. If it were compulsory, then students and teachers alike would treat this subject differently and make an effort to excel in it, just like Bahasa Malaysia.

If we want to compete on a global basis, then we should really open our minds and hearts to learn English. This is education and not politics, so don’t gamble with our future. Please don’t let Malaysia be left behind.

I know it's rather short for a complaint, so please help. If you're a M'sian student, all the more you should help. (Calling overseas help as well). Please, please, please try to make this sound thought-provoking. Help me make an ending as well. Right now, the ending sounds dead and emotionless. Thanks so much.

Now, I'll just have to ....err....translate my whole passage to Nonsense Form to send to the government, so that they can estimate M'sian's English quality. I think I'll start with "I'm has read the new's about the funneh Enggrish subjek and wants to shows disapoinment on the garventmen......"

Thanks for reading. Hopefully you can help.

Edit: If you were wondering, yes, I DID send this letter to the Star. But, like I said, no way are they going to publish it.

I Complain

After weeks of endless attempts to cram useless information into our heads, memorising numerous arbitrary moral values and their arbitrary definitions and finally, coming face to face with those horrendous, blasphemous results, it's once again back to the time of the year to start guessing the smart weirdos in our class of 3 Batai 2009.

Ahem.

Correction: Start guessing the REST of the smart weirdos in class. The number one post is indisputably Melissa's territory.

Oh great. Look at me now. I'm starting to get really exam oriented. And it's because of this I'm starting to grumble.

Look at what the education system is doing to us! Doesn't anyone notice our freaky mental dysfunction? We rarely touch our books the whole year and only start hitting the books a few weeks before the exam. The smart people might start a few months early for all we know. For what? To get good grades? To get that 'A' on our report cards and to rid the minor blemishes of 'B's?

What's the point?

Let's look at it from another perspective.

Decades ago, during our parents' childhood years, have you any idea what exams were for? They were mainly to see if the students understood what they learnt. Those who really do remember what they've learnt are the true genii.

Fastforward to today and ask yourself this question. What are exams for? If you answered ".......to show how much the students know/ have learnt/ understood", think again. Exams now are mainly to boast your intelligence, to show people how good you are at memorising useless facts you don't even need to know to continue surviving. And, not to forget, to secure scholarships.

Even the top students. Don't believe?

If you talked to any of them before(or, you are one of them), notice that if something or some random fact isn't going to come out in the next exam, the smart kid won't even bother remembering it. Or, if the teacher tells the students which chapters to study for the next term, nobody bothers reading the other "irrelevant" chapters which are not coming out.

So, are they really that smart? (I'm not bursting your bubble, okay? Don't throw eggs at me!)

I'm just hoping for that one day when the principal would turn up on the first day of school and say that all the exams throughout the year are cancelled. There would be no more streaming anymore, no more positions, no more handing in our workbooks. Just observe everyone. No one would touch their books ever again.

And boom!

One day, your biology teacher walks in, noticeably happier than usual, and announces triumphantly that today would be your end-year assessment. Observe how everyone's expressions melt to a glassy stare into space, their jaws opening unconsciously, becoming a playground for flies. It wouldn't make much of a difference even if your mouth was closed anyway, you're going to die soon.

Trust me, more than half of the school would fail.

Although it sounds sadistic, I'm waiting for that to happen. Then, we all know who the true nerds are [and copying homework can be made easier].

I mean, exams have even leaked into the teachers heads and started polluting their thoughts with "must-fail-students" thoughts. What is wrong with everyone?

An archetype for this is Pn Nomi, 3 Batai's happy form teacher. Why happy? Is it because she jokes a lot or has that rare sense of humour? Or maybe she loves to talk to our class to make us feel better? Or is she some revolutionary teacher who challenges the forces that be?

Nah. What nonsense. She's the teacher who successfully "failed" all the 3 Batai students. Which teacher has ever accomplished such a feat? In the first class?? Well, that's our perception of it. "Fail" means not getting an 'A'. The highest mark was TWO marks from an 'A'. Not much difference now, is it? Only two humans got that honour [Melissa and *ahem* I]. Why am I complaining then? See, it shows I'm infected too. The 'A'-grade disease. The percentage comparison. Everyone was so disappointed as "the BM essay marks pulled down everyone's percentage by 3% and above".

But anyway, that's not my point. My point is..........back to exam-oriented thinking. As the above shows, even teachers are infected. And once the students get the results back, what else can you, as a student, do? One girl who suffered from a chronic exam-oriented infection said she was going to tell her tuition teacher about this outrage. She said this was ridiculous and she needed to complain to her tuition teacher.

Honestly, what does she expect her tuition teacher to do? Is he supposed to storm after Pn Nomi, demanding an explanation and sueing her for giving everyone in the first class inexplicably undesirable marks only the last class kids deserve? Pht*. Now that's what I call ridiculous.

*Pht is pronouced as "PFFT" and is a legal word, used to express annoyance. Found in scrabble =D

If you inspect the Malaysian policy closer, you would realise our "kiasu-ness" might even be comparable to Singapore's, only difference being we practice a more corrupted version of it. Seriously.

Public exams questions "leak" out weeks or even days before the actual exam. Excuse me! Aren't we all supposed to be prepared for this ourselves? It's basically such an insult to know that you've worked so hard all by yourself and the invisible "forces that be" are now leaking out questions for the lower classes. Is this an exam or what? People are announcing the questions that might come out just so that we can score higher marks for the exam????

For heaven's sake, stop it!!!! The standard for grade 'A' is already so low and you're still doing all these??? Hey, Americans!! *Waves frantically* How would you feel if I told you grade 'A' is from 70-100 marks in the public exam????? It's dumb, isn't it?! While some others might argue that Eastern countries have a tendency to be exam-oriented, I find this ridiculous. Might as well scrape off all the exams.

Think about it, my fellow compatriots. What's the whole point of memorising so many facts only to throw them away later? So what if you know that Francis Light found Penang? So what if you know how the Japanese conquered us? Who the heck cares if your brain can digest all the moral values and their arbitrary definitions when you can't even apply them? For heavens sake, some people don't even know who the first man on the moon was. Or Genghis Khan. Or Napoleon Bonaparte (some people thought he invented Neapolitan-flavoured ice-cream). Let's learn all these other useful things, rather than study things we'd forget after the exam. It's time we make our syllabus global.

Wow. Enough exam rantings. I bet I'm boring you to death.

**********************************************

Some other weird happenings this week includes:

Power transition from Abdullah Badawi to Najib. Sigh, I do not wish to say anything else. When you've got nothing nice to say, just shut up. (Even the French know it).
Najib got his "dream team", which the rakyat (citizens) portray as "nightmare team".

Mr K (extra-curricular teacher) was joking throughout his entire speech during assembly. Some parts include ".....so much disciplinary problem when you're back in school.......you get apprehended.......the good news is, Liverpool won.....". And when he was praising the sportsmen in school, he asked each one of them to stand up for their respective sport when mentioned. Very few dared to stand up for some unknown fear. "Those who stood up are brave. Very good. Those who dared not stand up.......are also very good! Modesty, a moral value, has been applied.......". It soon became "misplaced modesty" and teachers have been criticising our class for that the whole week.

I don't know why I bothered to offer myself to perform for the school's MAC. Now, I have to arrange a song in 2 days.

No more complaints. Enjoy your weekend.

Cheers,
Ryx.

Rubbishlah!!

CHINESE NEW YEAR'S EVE!!!!!!!!!

........and I'm down with a cold.

Yes, yes. Very ironic. I should be better within 12 hours at the rate I'm going : Drinking glass after glass of hot water to soothe my irritated throat. I MUST get better otherwise I won't be able to enjoy all the glorious food only found during the festive season.

After a tedious 6-hour drive (courtesy of stupid road accidents and toll plazas), we have reached the number 2 tourism spot in the world. Truth is, I have no idea as to how Penang island got to be that famous. Maybe the government was just duping us so that we could stimulate local economy growth.

When we did reach Penang, I kept hoping for that notebook to appear out of thin air. I needed it for school projects (Home Science and that stupid stuff). Just when I thought I could use my uncle's computer, I found that the genie made it vanish. My uncle was the genie. Seems like he had shifted the computer over to his own apartment. Darn. Now I need the notebook more than ever!!!

Since there is no computer within access, you must be wondering how I got to create this post. This magic trick was done by pestering my aunt to let me use her Macbook (I refuse to elaborate). Sadly, there isn't MSN on it and I wouldn't want to download it on someone else's computer.

Now, my throat feels better. Hopefully I can start eating cookies again.

Meanwhile, let me introduce you to the local English language. We call this language "Manglish", a monicker for Mangled English. It's basically just English with a mixture of other languages thrown into it. Now, now, it's not really long-winded and can be quite time-saving. It's actually shorter (and more convenient) than actual English. Here are some great examples:

English : Hi Joe! Haven’t seen you for a long time. How are you?
Manglish : Hi Joe! Long time no see, so how?

English : Would you turn off the fan, please? – Yes, of course.
Manglish : Can off the fan ah? –Can!

English : I think I’m going to be in deep trouble.
Manglish : Die!

English : The fish tastes really great!
Manglish : Best lah the fish!

English : Would you please reverse your car?
Manglish : Gostan! (Pronounced as "go-stun")

English : It’s not necessary for you to trouble youself. I can make it on my own.
Manglish : No need! I can lah.

English : I have not paid my fee.
Manglish : Notchet pay fee.

English : I have to know, are you coming to the the party?
Manglish : Come anot?

English : A while ago.....
Manglish : Just now.....

English : Buy one get one free!
Manglish : Buy one free one!

English : For goodness sake, can you stop disturbing me??
Manglish : Aiyo, don't disturb-lah!

It sounds really ‘fake’ for Malaysians to speak proper English. Many Manglish speakers worry that if they talk properly, their friends will think that they are putting on airs. ‘Why you tok liedat ah? You ting you are a matsalleh, is it?' ('Why are you talking like that? Do you think you're an Englishman?’). There are many people in Malaysia who have an extremely limited grasp of English. If you use bombastic words and phrases (like ‘bombastic’), they will not understand. So to be understood, you need to speak Manglish. *Thumbs up and big grin*.

In America, people speak American English. In Australia, people speak Australian English. What’s wrong with Malaysians speaking Malaysian English? After all, every country has its own slang and accent. For example, Americans say cellphone, Brits say mobile phone and Malaysians say handphone. What’s wrong with that?

Manglish has become part of Malaysian culture and heritage
Manglish has become something we can be proud of. Why try to hide it? It’s part of our cultural heritage. And it’s something that all Malaysians can participate in, no matter which ethnicity. Plus, tourists think it’s cute when they hear people saying lah all the time.

So, Malaysians-ah, let's be proud of ourselves and start promoting Manglish-lah!!!

How 2008 Rocked Us

[I'll try and keep this short.]

2008 has been a memorable year. The world has undoubtedly begun its process of changing itself, for better or for worse.

2 Batai 2008 (Review)
School's been really weird this year. Many unexpected things turned up. People went nuts for no specific reasons.
Complaints
Hysteric

Okay, there's just too many odd events to list out. July's one is the best.

Leap for Joy
There were countless unique things about this year. Firstly, it was a leap year!! Yay, let's all leap with joy!!! I planned to make this extra day (Feb 29, obviously) memorable by trying to ring the alarm in my house. This would surely make me the most famous kid on the block. I'd be renowned for the authenticity of my idea and the nickname "The Kid Who Cried Wolf" would be bestowed upon me with pride. Nobody would remember it anyway after 3 years. There is no anniversary for this child's play.

Political Catastrophe
You can't call it a political tsunami after all. The effects and even the aftermath is devastating. The victims (BN) have not fully recovered from their losses yet, which is great to country. DEMOCRATS RULE.

Call it THE Political Joke, A Comic Strip.

And.....what could be worse than OPPOSITION NOT TAKING OVER THE FEDERAL GOVERNMENT????? I was hoping like mad hours before 916!!!!

Nation's Progress Report

Natural Disasters
We were hit with many staggering truths about our changing world. Blue is the "new green" that we must also conserve. We have been faced with many natural disasters this year, with the rising number of earthquakes and all. The year ended (in my country) with a landslide in Bukit Antarabangsa, killing several people.

Silkie's Lost
Silkie got lost in July and was miraculously found again on September 28. [Pictures of Silkie.] During her "lost period", I think I've came across to everyone as really odd. Muttons[Restaurant Luck]....

Essays
I poked fun at an essay. Very unusual as this was based on "scientific facts".

Meals
Pantai Restaurant
This is probably one of the worst meals this year. Luckily, it was saved by my aunt's great humour.
Too Much
Ice

080808 Beijing Olympics
China managed to obtain a staggering 51 gold medals, the 34th medal being the one won against Malaysia's very own Lee Chong Wei. Chong Wei still made it into Malaysia's records as being the first to earn the country a medal in the Olympics. He was granted Datukship (similar to that of the British knighthood) later. On the same day as China's 34th golden achievement, Michael Phelps, the world's greatest contemporary swimmer, broke the previous record when he obtained his 8th gold medal, beating Mark Spitz, a former swimming champion too. I followed Alexandria to Petrosains on the same day. The Beijing Olympics closing ceremony was just as spectacular as the opening ceremony.

School's Competitive Stand
On the same day as the Olympics closing ceremony, my school went for a choir competition. Not surprisingly, Seafield emerged as the champion. Ever since the Scrabble competition, everything has to get tangled up with Seafield. Sigh.

Scrabble Scabs
Thanks to my mum and Khoo Ghee Ken, my whole mind is completely distorted with thoughts of Scrabble now. The competition on the 19th of April has accelerated the changing of my perspective on the world. I only started looking through my scrabble options after joining 2 back-to-back tournaments (held one week after the other) : the MSA National Youth Scrabble Championship and MSA National Scrabble Tournament (Open). Those weren't even my plans in the beginning. Truth be told, I had no idea my mum signed me up for those.

As for the "Scabs", you ask? Read this. The last few paragraphs suck. Big time.

Epoch-making Moments
Opposing Malaysia's political status is America. Their nation has by large proven that race is not an obstacle to be a leader. President-elect Barack Obama has not only crossed the barrier of race but surpassed all expectations throughout the campaign leading to the election. He has immortalized himself by becoming America's 44th president and the first black president.

ALL HAIL OBAMA.

A Great Trip
I want to go back to Changsha.

Last but not least,

HAPPY NEW YEAR

Nation's Progress Report

Hey guys, seeing that the political status in our country is ticking off again, I would like to poke some fun at ourselves. Mind you, no offense intended here. I decided to write this now, especially when trivial [not to mention controversial] issues are appearing on the front cover almost everyday for the past few weeks.

Let's start all the way from the beginning, shall we?

In the threshold of year 2008, the nation has seen many little kids gone missing. Up till now, none of them [or their bodies, say, they're dead....] have been recovered. Even the case is long forgotten. Professional police / bar council? Bah!! It seems that children went missing to welcome the general elections.

March 8 2008
An epoch-making day. This was the day that the power of democracy exceeded the corrupted government's expectations. 5 states were won over by the opposition and the dominating government which stood tall and menacing for the past 50 years lost their 2/3 majority (such was the cowardice of citizens last time). Selangor, Perak, Kedah, Kelantan and Penang were the 5 lucky states whose people stood united against the current government. Unfortunately thought, Barisan National still became the Federal Government due to unfortunate blinded people who failed to link them with corruption. The new state governments for the 5 lucky stars have implicated good measures to revert Malaysia to a more peaceful place without racial tensions.

Thank goodness there wasn't a recurrence of May 13 (1969). This was the day that mass killing was done right here. Malaysians against their own kin (*tsk tsk*).

In the second half of the year, things started going wild. At that time, PKR's (a political party in the Opposition) leader has decided to vacate her seat for her husband, Anwar Ibrahim, who was wrongfully "exiled" from politics exactly 10 years ago.

Apparently, Dr M[ahathir] was alleged to have a conspiracy with his sycophantic minions and framed his then Deputy Prime Minister (Mr Anwar Ibrahim) for sodomy. Of course the court didn't do any proper investigations nor did they do anything to Dr M. Plus, our ACA (supposedly standing for Anti-Corruption Agency) didn't do anything. It was said that Dr M controlled that body AND the judicial council.

And this year, he has made a comeback to politics. At that time, everyone was so excited with his comeback as many promises were made. Because his wife vacated her [Parliamentary] seat, a by-election was done. In that by-election, he won without a doubt, reaching about 17,000 majority (if I'm not wrong). Then, he was made Opposition Leader instead of Lim Kit Siang from DAP (another political party within Opposition).

After that, the public was allowed to view Parliamentary debates casted on the media. Indeed, this was enough entertainment for the public. Now, this is a political joke as funny questions, insults, sleeping leaders and walkouts were part of the show. This is what was displayed on the television screen.

Midway, political leaders again try their luck with the same tactic as was used a decade ago. Anwar Ibrahim was again alleged of sodomy. This was when everyone got annoyed. His DNA sample was tried to be taken from him [according to rumours, it's so that it can be planted on the so-called "victim"]. Man, don't these leaders have better ideas? When you're trying to frame someone, do it creatively!

And let's not forget the day when many (if not all) Malaysians were enraged (12 September). This needs a whole lot of elaboration on behalf of normal citizens. 3 innocent Malaysians were detained under the Internal Security Act due to mentally challenged circumstances. There was a highly-regarded blogger, an award-winning journalist and an influential politician. By right, the ISA was only used to detain TERRORISTS. Apparently, the government thinks they're terrorists. If these respected people are terrorists, that would explain our current ban from certain sophisticated places of the world like England.

The stupidest detention in all history of mankind was the detainment of award-winning journalist Tan Hoon Cheng from Penang. She was the journalist who reported the racial statements made by Ahmad Ismail, who stated that the Chinese didn't belong here in a public statement. Now, instead of the wrongdoer, the one who REPORTED the incident was detained. This was something that occurred long long time ago (Operasi Lalang).

Useful Information:
Operation Lalang (Weeding Operation; also referred to as Ops Lalang) was carried out on October 27, 1987 by the Malaysian police to crack down on opposition leaders and social activists. The operation saw the infamous arrest of 106 persons under the Internal Security Act (ISA) and the revoking of the publishing licenses of two dailies, The Star and the Sin Chew Jit Poh and two weeklies, The Sunday Star and Watan. [...read more...]

Luckily, Miss Hoon Cheng was released one day after her detention. The Home Minister, Datuk Seri Syed Hamid Albar, gave an idiotic and irrelevant answer as to why she was detained.

"Her safety was threatened".

This sparked anger among many Malaysians irregardless of race and age. How dumb could this explanation get!!?!?!?!

Teresa Kok, a politician who won a landslide victory in Seputeh, Shah Alam, during the March elections was detained for no apparent reason either. No doubt she is highly respectable since her victory was, by right, the largest in the country with a 31,000 majority. Initially, she was alleged to have taken part in a petition to lower the speakers of 2 mosques during their prayer time. BOTH mosques, however, said that she DIDN'T. It was even stated in the newspaper. However, she was only released a week later and no one could explain why she was detained. It could be to scare off the Opposition party.

Then, there was everyone's favourite : Raja Petra Kamaruddin, a renowned blogger. This was the most controversial case ever. He wrote a post which stated that the current Deputy Prime Minister was involved in the murder of Mongolian Altantuyaa. He even made a statutory declaration, which meant that he was very very sure of this. God bless him for his courage. And now, many citizens know what he wants and why he was detained. According to Malaysian laws, there ARE laws for these "seditious comments" on the net. However, RPK was still detained. Why? If he were to be charged in court, the DPM (Deputy PM) HAS to be there too. And obviously, this is not the option he chooses. That's why RPK was detained. And we have yet to hear a reasonable explanation from our Home Minister. And now, let's hear it from the once Opposition Leader, Lim Kit Siang!!

Ahh, not to forget September the 16th. This is the day Malaysia changed--its expectations. This not-anymore prestigious day WAS supposed to be the day Opposition took over the Federal Government. It was so realistically declared that even the Federal Government itself was so afraid. So, all the Parliament Members were sent of to Taiwan in order to foil the Opposition's plans to take over the government. This added to the nation's anticipation. If the Federal Government was afraid, it's real. Unfortunately, the Malaysian mindset proves us wrong once again. How very disappointing. After that, many dates were set to take over the government. We now believe that there's nothing to hope for after all--until the next general elections!!

And what do you know?!? On his last day as MCA leader, Ong Ka Ting has made history by speaking out against BN, the dominating party. All hail Ong Ka Ting for this, who has also limited the party president's term to 9 years of service. After that, bye-bye and no more Part President for you. That was one of the other memorable things he did against power-driven people who cling on to posts. Read his whole speech here.

"Datuk" is the title awarded to special people in the King's / Sultan's honour. Common sense tells us that if a King were to give this title out, it should be given to their own citizens. Malaysians, in this case. However, lately, the Malaccan King has stated that he wanted to award Bollywood actor Shah Rukh Khan the Malaysian title. This was very unthoughtful indeed and has sparked off many sarcastic remarks. "Hey, I'm smart and I've contributed to society with my smartness. Why don't you give me that title?". Smart indeed they are.

Malaysia is the only country that includes Fatwa (Edict) in the law, if consensus is achieved in all states. Recently, there has been this long controversy of whether yoga should be banned among Muslims. The body responsible for issuing the edict came to a conclusion just like that. And because of that, almost all the states and citizens were thrown into confusion. All the states have immediately "given full support" by saying that it would be implemented in their system. By then, the only pending answer was from Selangor. And yes, Selangor declined the edict. So, there was no consensus unlike as was stated at first. And there was this Muslim lady who conducted yoga classes and questioned them for saying that Muslims would deviate from their religion when practising yoga, which originated from Hindus. She said something very practical, which I think the leaders should think about : "Did they go around to see us practise yoga (in the modern world) or did they visit the Hindu temple?". That rings true. Implementing the ban, eventhough it is only meant for Muslims is like saying Buddhists or Christians who practice yoga deviate from their religion too. My mum practices yoga, but I've NEVER seen her chanting when practicing it. I mean, the whole world knows that yoga without the chanting doesn't diminish the faith you have in your religion. In fact, it is even recommended by scientists since it is beneficial for health.

Then the year ended with the PKR MP who wants to quit on New Year's Day due to odd reasons.

Through the nation's eyes, there have been many unsolved crimes this year. The highest-profile crime caused the biggest stir, with RPK of Malaysia Today alleging that the DPM was involved in it. Natural Disasters have also hit the nation, ending with the landslide in Bukit Antarabangsa (when we were in Changsha).

Conclusion :
Malaysia is regressing in social terms. In the long run, we might progress again, depending on the next election, or, if God will, the next takeover plan. =D

Aloha 2009!!

School, Anyone?

Right....So yesterday, I passed up my horrible-looking creature. And about Tuesday, I figured I got into Harmonix. That's just great, really. Unfortunately, the horrible-looking creature was brutally killed in an unexpected manslaughter by that freaking racist who so happens to be a teacher in my school. Have some respect for people's project, you [if you swear, as in foul words, please enjoy your moment to do so after the *toot*] *toot*.................................................. Good job.

Right......some (or most, maybe?) people have been complaining about how slow my page here loads. So I'm going to do all of you complainers a great favour and I'm going to remove a few elements from this page. I'm really really sorry about the load speed you guys' computers possess. I seem to be oblivious to all the slow loading because my blog just comes out complete the first time on my computer. If I find a better template, I'll change it for the sake of you people.

-------------------------------------------------------------

I'm on a self-declared holiday today since my parents are not free enough to send me to school. Currently counting down the days until exam. Everyone keeps asking me if I've started studying yet, in anticipation of the terrified answer "yes". Unfortunately, no, I haven't started studying yet. I figured that this term, I'm talking more than taking any action. At this point, I'm finally mature enough to say that school is officially a distraction to people my age. Just admit it, the young teachers are not really helping in our education. They're strict when they're not supposed to be and are too lenient when they're supposed to be strict. And that's a fact. It applies to most subjects except the ones with older and more seasoned teachers educating us. It's not just their fault....

I would like to point out that our batch just sucks. We bully most of the teachers and our discipline is thumbs down. The only students who get credits are those who go round apple-polishing teachers. Student term : being suck up. I don't know how the term was made, but I'd say it's a bad term. Why bother adding more unknown local Manglish words into the dictionary and students' brains when we already have the impeccable international English??? See what I mean by schools being useless? Instead of being able to teach fellow teens the proper words, it is in fact generating regression as students gather about in cliques to create new "code languages" behind the teachers' backs. In the long term, all the pesky, irrational older siblings will teach their younger siblings improper usage of words, thus influencing the next generation of lost hope. And the cycle continues.

Actually, it's not all that bad. They are many good teachers around in our school. Only problem is that they're all about to retire. *Exasperated sigh*. All except the Datin. [NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!]

A great teacher who have inspired us a lot is Pn Sharon. Unfortunately, she resigned due to certain circumstances. Pity us. A great Geography teacher gone. Science too....eventhough Pn Lam wasn't really a favourite among the students, I'd have to chip in and voice out that she's much better than our current science teacher, who relentlessly deducts precious marks from students, greatly affecting exam marks, not to mention positions. In fact, our science teacher is so terrible that she doesn't even accept answers other teachers consider correct. Just because "we are the smart class" doesn't mean we have to get everything wrong. Even the other "smart classes" whose students put the same answer as us got theirs right......when ours were wrong!!!! We should have put up a riot or something....showed some student power......

Honestly, Malaysian students are blundering cowards. We don't dare to put up a show for people. Among all the South-East Asian countries, M'sia and S'pore show the least student riots. Obviously S'pore students don't have anything to rebel against their government since their education system has already been proven as international standard, whereas M'sia's education is hopelessly pointless. English isn't even emphasised here.....

Then the question arouses : Why DO we go to school?
For no reason at all, other than MOE's requirements.

And that's why I stay home and blog. =)

-----------------------------------------------

Okay.....if I were like other people, I would have started a new post instead of continueing...but hey, it's me and I'm different from you!! The main reason why I'm blogging again is because I now have broken English swimming around in my head, like little fish trying to devour my brain. [Please note that the "fish" I used is plural. If you were wondering, FISHES is actually a verb and means trying to catch fish]. All these thanks to trying to pry imaginative stories from other people's lives to add to my composition woes. To curb further injuries, I went to read Emily's and Ghee Ken's blog.....Only to find that I DIDN'T want to read Gheek's blog anymore thanks to the presence of ventriloquist dolls there. To rub it in even more, all Emily's post contained were pictures and a short post dedicated to a friend. So, to get rid of forbidden English, I have decided to exercise my thoughts again......And YES!!!! The forbidden English has been completely erased from all forms of thoughts!!!!!

Why Do We Learn History?

Well, as the MOE pointed out, it's to know more about your beloved country and its [condemned] history. The big question is "Is it getting us, the younger generation, anywhere?". The answer to most of us is a gigantic NO.

Honestly, we are not even studying about how our country has progressed in the recent years, when the rest of the world is caught up in modernization. Instead, we are studying about the ancient times when our country was unmistakeably conquered 4 times by the superpowers of yesterday. Basically, this explains why our country is regressing in hysterical historical terms. The kids of today have totally no idea of what the heck is going on in the world around them. [Why, some people don't even know who Lee Kuan Yew is!!!! ]And that's how the gov is taking advantage of the situation now.

Let's just say we're all stupid people who would believe everything the gov is telling us and they, in return, think we're all dumb nuts and trust whatever they say after ruling us for 51 years of mass corruption.

And still, the question remains. Why DO we learn history if we NEVER learn from our past mistakes??? In 1988, Lim Guan Eng and a few others from DAP were detained for voicing out on behalf of the people when some guy raped an underaged girl. The wrongdoer got away with no charges while the one who voiced out his discontentment was detained for about 2 years. Now, isn't that situation a little TOO familiar? Raja Petra, Sin Chew reporter Tan Hoon Cheng and Teresa Kok were detained yesterday. Tan Hoon Cheng's arrest was the dumbest. She's a reporter and she was the one who wrote that the freak racist Ahmad guy said that the Chinese were immigrants. And instead of detaining Ahmad himself, the innocent reporter who was doing her job to earn a living.

And what about 1998? Anwar Ibrahim was alleged for a sodomy case. And hey presto!! 10 years later, the same tactic was used. Which comes to show how terrible these people are. Either their memory just sucks or they have no other innovative ideas in framing people up. Now, this is some crazy situation you can only get in Malaysia. Copyrighted by Malaysians. Gee, wouldn't they feel proud of that.

So you see, learning history is driving us students hysterical because it does not really play an important part in our lives at the rate we're going. We don't learn modern history and our ancient version of history is ultimately boring us (who wants to know how we got conquered 4 times??????).

Conclusion: Change our History from BM to English and change the syllabus to WORLD HISTORY, which will benefit the students greatly.

Malaysia's Comic Strip

Malaysia has just come up with the latest and hottest comic story!!!!!! This great comic has an outstanding plot and with the twists and turns in the storyline and has the chance of being the best comic of the century. Would you like to guess it's name??? Political Joke. HAH. Not surprised. The great author and the mastermind plotter, is clearly enjoying all the attention paid by the nation to his latest creation. With great plots such as Najib being alleged of having himself involved in the high-profile murder of Altantuya Shaariibuu and Raja Petra making a statutory declaration of Najib's involvement in it to the outbursts in the Dewan Rakyat.

Lately, the petrol price hike is also contributing to a lot of commotions. People are complaining that the government isn't doing anything for the past few days because all we have is a great, long comic strip on the front cover of the newspaper everyday. Looks like other comic-authors have to work longer and harder to come up with something that makes the headlines everyday!!!! Seriously, with people involved in the murder case from that Bala guy who just went missing all of a sudden after making some statutory declarations and Raja Petra getting really detailed information from "a highly reliable source" like 'The Prime Minister Datuk Seri Ahmad Badawi got that report from the military intelligence and gave it to son-in-law Khairy for "safe-keeping"' to Najib proclaiming, " I am not involved.". Really great...fantastic unimaginable underhand tactics and dogmatic lots.

Unfortunately, this flurry of political sham is boring us. Come up with something new please!. You, what we called the government SHOULD have done something more important like how to
FIGHT INFLATION AND CRIME, CONTROL PETROL HIKE, REDUCE UNEMPLOYMENT AND KEEPING THE COUNTRY ECONOMIC ROBUST. GOONS, YOU HEAR US? WE THE CITIZENs ARE SCREAMING LOUD AND CLEAR!!!!!

I can't go to Switzerland!!!

Oh and now, I've created a new code by accident. I love this code sooooo much and I hope you guys can try it out =)
muahahahahahahahahaha

Reminder to myself: For quick edit, just press the blank space right after the comments.

Political Analysis

Barisan Nasional STILL can't get over why they lost. Yesterday, Abdullah "Bodohwi" (at least that's what friends call him) decided not to step down. I heard there was a riot yesterday outside the King's Palace (Istana). Heard...only heard. Looks like the people aren't happy with Abdullah.....Unfortunately, he still thought himself as great. So, he decided not to step down. He was sworn in as the Prime Minister for his 2nd term. Mr Koh Tsu Koon was known as 'gentleman' today in an article stating how stubborn Samy Vellu is in contrast. Samy Vellu should follow Mr Koh, who admitted defeat and took responsibility for Gerakan's loss. He offered to step down as Gerakan's president whereas Samy Vellu decided to keep his post as MIC president and wanted to "create that new wind and ride on the new wave". The Indian Community hates him for that because he is so unattached to them and doesn't respect their needs. When the Indians were rioting (fighting for their rights) in Batu Caves and on November 25th 2007, police caught the rioters and Samy Vellu advised them not to do such a thing against the government.

Meanwhile, MCA president Ong Ka Ting wanted to find out why Barisan Nasional lost the people's support. Face it now, BN supporters.....I can even list all your defects out to you!!!!!!! It's not about wrong advices given by not-so-efficient ministers, just as Dr Lim (in The Star) had stated, the root is your own arrogance and naivety!!! But are you going to listen to that? No. The PM is listening to his idiotic son-in-law, Khairy's advice and stashing up you-know- what, and although word has got about it and Dr Mahathir, former PM, is already saying it, we have no solid evidence to bring him to justice!!!!!! Besides that, the moron "special" rules for all 'bumiputeras' are driving all the Chinese and Indians insane. Apart from that, the Malays are opting to vote for PKR and PAS rather than BN. WHY?
Look at the police. What are they doing??? So many children have gone missing and the police are not doing anything. Thanks to Nurin, the girl who got lost sometime around Sep-Oct last year and another Malay girl early this year, the Malays are probably outraged. And don't say that BN's downfall is caused by the increase in petrol prices. It's the darned whatnots you and your dirty crew are collecting.

I went for my braces tightening yesterday. The orthodontist measured how far my teeth have gone in. It went in by 6.5mm. It was 10mm (1cm) out before I did my braces. Now, it's only 3.5mm out. The tightening this time was really painful, but luckily it's during the holidays. I have to wear the rubber now (I wore it last time too). I went to see the herbal doctor (actually a mixture of both herbal doctor and modern-day doctor) today to correct my spine. And yes, it wasn't so bad like I had always said, it's between 5-10 degrees. The correcting was very much like the previous chiropractor I've been to, except that this one was much more painful.

I haven't really finished all the projects in my hand yet. Going to try and finish them.....soon. Wait....how soon is 'soon'?

Oh and anyway, I'd like to dedicate today's post to my grandmother as today is her birthday. HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU, AMMA!

Political Tsunami

Barisan Nasional is the Government again.
But Selangor, Penang, Perak, Kelantan and Kedah was won over by the Opposition!!!!!
Barisan Nasional never expected that to happen. BN lost it's crown jewel, Selangor.
No one expected it. Yet it happened. This year's election is BN's BIGGEST change in history. It even beat May 13 (1969). BN lost 5 states this election. And the best part is that Samy Vellu lost it and got his worst (72nd) birthday. Now, Selangor would be governed by the Opposition party. Gerakan got the biggest hit, losing all 13 states and 4 parliamentary seats.

OPPOSITION ROCKS!!!!!!!!!!!

Some of the results are as shown:

FAMOUS
1.Tan Sri Dr Koh Tsu Koon (BN) *Chief Minister of Penang* lost to P Ramasamy (DAP)
2.Datuk Seri Shahrizat Abdul Jalil (BN) lost to Nurul Izzah (PAS) in Lembah Pantai
3.Datuk Seri S. Samy Vellu (BN) lost to Dr D. Michael Jeyakumar (PKR)

Petaling Jaya (South)
1.Donald Lim Siang Chai (BN)*22,892 votes* lost to Hee Loy Sian (PKR)*28,598*

(Bukit Gasing)
2.Lim Thuang Seng (BN)*6,923 votes* lost to Edward Lee Poh Lin (DAP)*15,735 votes*

Petaling Jaya (North)
Tony Pua Kiam Wee (DAP) *37,851 votes* won over Chew Mei Fun (BN) *17,879 votes*

BUT NOBODY CAN BEAT THIS:

Seputeh (near Midvalley Mall)
Carol Chew Chee Lin (BN) *10,738 votes*

AGAINST

Teresa Kok Suh Sim (DAP) *47,230 votes*

Imagine Abdullah's face!!!!!! BN lost SO much!!!!!!
Even after he threatened the Chinese, he lost it!!!!!!
Too bad for them for not trying enough. Too bad for Samy Vellu. And I can't believe Khairy got in after the recount.

Happy belated birthday to you, Samy Vellu !!!!!! (go take a trip overseas and don't ever come back!)

Last but not least, CONGRATULATIONS TO ALL MALAYSIANS FOR SHOWING THE GOVERNMENT WHAT THEY NEED TO KNOW!!!!!!!!

BN SUX!!!!!!!!!!

Biased Elections

aToday is the day that I hope will make a change to M'sia. National elections. But what I've heard is so bias. American elections and the M'sian elections are so different. Americans take almost 2 years to campaign whilst the Malaysians take 2 WEEKS to campaign. What is this nonsense??? And besides, from what I've heard, those people don't play fair. In the 1969 elections, there was a mass killing of Chinese people. And you wanna know why? It's because the Opposition was winning against the much hated Barisan Nasional. And guess what? Their own Prime Minister is threatening the Chinese people!!! He said that if they don't vote for BN, they would not have a representative in the Government and then the government won't care for the Chinese people. That is just so STUPID. I hope that all the people in Malaysia whether Chinese, Malay or India will stand up for their own rights as citizen. Lee Kuan Yew demanded for equal rights for everybody in 1963 which got Singapore kicked out of Malaysia. And well, he didn't give up. Instead, he led his nation all the way until they became a first world country- 12 years later!!! What about Malaysia? 51 years of independence not to mention about first world nor to show any progr ess in our mentality but we are sliding backwards. Anyway, I hope that justice be done on the hopeless Parliament in the country.
